Welcoming speech.
Good morning!
It is our great pleasure to welcome the principal(승슈홍), teachers (자스민 임,, 브리지트 웡)and students of Riverside Secondary School in Singapore to Young-Deok Middle School, today.
Let me introduce our school to you;
My name is Mang, Gee Ho, and I am the principal of Young-Deok Middle School. Our school’s goal is to develop and nurture “creative and future global leaders”. We were founded in 1997(nine teen ninety seven), and now have 1500(fifteen hundred) students and 90(ninety) passionate teachers.
Singapore is well known as an advanced country
that has quickly achieved a high standard of economic, cultural and educational development.
We Koreans, too, are proud of the great progress
we have achieved in a variety of areas like Singapore;
We share a lot of similarities so I feel close to you
and am glad to welcome lifelong friends to Korea.
Riverside Secondary School has a reputation for scholastic achievement
and a tradition of academic excellence.
We look forward to this opportunity to grow our friendship
and share educational ideas through this exchange program.
I am certain
your visit will help students from both schools gain further understanding
and insight into each other’s culture, and come even closer to our aim of raising future global leaders.
It’s so important to us that you feel comfortable and enjoy your trip here,
so please let us help with anything you need.
I hope you all enjoy your stay in Korea and make a lot of great memories.
It is really a pleasure to host you all, and I wish everybody a great time.
Thank you very much, and have a good day.
