I am pleased to make you this conditional offer of admission to the MSc in Finance and Economics for the 2009\/10 session as a full-time student. As a full-time student, you will be required to attend a minimum of 21 hours of study per week, beginning 4 September 2009. You are required to attend an introductory course – details are below. The programme lasts 10 months, finishing 30 June 2010. The graduation ceremony will be in the July following completion of the programme.
\nYour offer of admission is made on the basis of the information you provided. All the information you need is in the offer booklet; please read it carefully and then respond to us by returning the reply form sheet, which you will receive with the offer pack. Please respond within 6 weeks of receiving your offer pack. You can reply and accept this offer before you meet the conditions below. You will not be able to register until you have satisfied the following conditions:<\/p>\n

* You must provide official proof of your degree or other main qualification results.
\n* A new copy of your transcript. We require an original or certified copy.
\n* You must attend the following course(s) at the LSE Summer School and take the examinations at the end of the course(s): EC312
\n* You must provide official proof of your GRE general test result confirming your scores of
\n* You are required to attend the introductory courses beginning on 4 September 2009 and take the examinations at the end of September before proceeding with the degree programme.<\/p>\n

Your documents must be originals, or certified copies, in English. For a test of English, GRE, or GMAT we must receive an original institution score report directly from your test provider.<\/p>\n

Fees
\nWe have classified you as Overseas for the payment of fees. The fees for your programme are 18048 pounds sterling for the 2009\/10 session only. You may pay either in one lump sum, or in instalments. Graduate Support Scheme
\nIt has not yet been possible to consider you for financial support from LSE, as your Graduate Support Scheme application form was not submitted before the decision to offer you a place was taken. In order to be considered for need-based financial support from the School, please complete the application form which is linked to www.lse.ac.uk\/collections\/graduateAdmissions\/apply\/trackYourApplication.htm as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

Financial Undertaking Form
\nYou will receive the Financial Undertaking form (FUF) with the offer pack. Please read and complete the form carefully. You should return the completed form to the Graduate Admissions Office before 30 July 2009, or as soon as possible after that date if your offer is received later than July 2009. If you are awaiting confirmation from a sponsoring organisation you should complete the form as though you or your family will be responsible for your fees, and then inform us at a later time once your sponsorship\/scholarship is confirmed. You will not become liable to pay any fees until you register. Keep a copy of your completed FUF for use in your visa application if applicable.<\/p>\n

Preparation for your arrival
\nRegistration usually takes place in the second half of September, although you may have pre-sessional requirements that mean you need to register early \u2013 your department will inform you if this is the case. We will send you further information about registration in the summer.

International Students
\nIf you are a non-EU, non-EEA or Swiss national, you will need a student visa. The UK Border Agency (UKBA) has rigorous procedures for processing visas and you should start to arrange your entry to the UK as soon as possible. For further information about applying for a visa, contact your local British Mission \u2013 more information about your local British Mission and how to apply can be found at www.ukvisas.gov.uk\/en\/howtoapply\/vafs. This website sets out what documents are required for your application, including a \u2018Visa Letter\u2019 from LSE (see below). For independent visa advice visit the UK Council for International Students (UKCISA) website www.ukcisa.org.uk.
\nEnclosed with the offer pack are two certificates of your offer which you can use for scholarship and banking purposes. To obtain a visa you will need to hold an unconditional offer from LSE. At this stage LSE will issue you with a \u2018Visa Letter\u2019\u2019which you will need when applying for your visa. The Visa Letter will show the status of your offer, the cost of your tuition fees, LSE\u2019s unique reference number for visa purposes and a list of the documents that LSE reviewed before making you an offer.
\nYou can print general offer certificates from your record on the online status tracker, available via www.lse.ac.uk\/collections\/graduateAdmissions\/apply\/trackYourApplication.htm, or request further general certificates or a visa letter be sent to you by post using the online form at www.lse.ac.uk\/collections\/graduateAdmissions\/howDoI.

Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS)
\nAs a student with JACS code N300, you are not required by the UK Border Agency to apply for ATAS clearance.<\/p>\n

Accommodation and living costs
\nIf you wish to live in LSE accommodation, you must apply using the form available at www.lse.ac.uk\/accommodation. The deadline is 31 May 2009. If you receive your offer after this date you may still apply, but the chances of being offered a place are diminished. The Accommodation Office will inform you by mid July if you have been allocated a place. LSE is able to offer a place to 90% of people who apply for accommodation. The cost of LSE accommodation ranges from about \u00a360 – \u00a3170 per week, depending on the size and type of room.
\nYou should allow approximately \u00a31000 per month for living expenses, plus \u00a31000 for one-off expenses.<\/p>\n

\nPlease note that LSE, like all UK universities, collects information on its students and staff for various essential administrative, academic and health and safety reasons. If you choose to accept your offer of a place, you are agreeing to the terms of registration (annex C of the offer book) and to the lawful use of your data for the uses mentioned.<\/p>\n
